Day 1 Sofia – Pamporovo
Arriving at Sofia airport. Rent the jeeps, and load the luggage. Guides explains on maps where you are going, give each jeep water and radio (walkie-talkie) and start the trip. Drive to Plovdiv on motorway and visit a local village (Vinogradec) on the way. Wine-production area known for Merlot, Cabernet and domestic vines as Mavrud. Lunch in Plovdiv and sightseeing the old town. Drive to Asenovgrad fortress – visit Bachkovo monastery. Visit rock formations ‘Wonder bridges’ and drive to Pamporovo. Dinner and overnight at 4**** hotel.
Day 2 Rodopi highlands
Visit Watefalls Canyon (walking in green river gorge we enjoy several falls) , Orpheus rocks (short walk in coniferous wood with majestic panorama), cave Uhlovitsa (salagtites) and Smilian village and Smolian town. Return to Pamporovo for second overnight.
Day 3 Rodopi villages and caves. Drive off-road to Mugla village, then to Trigrad village, visit cave Devil Throat, lunch in a local guest-house, off-road to Yagodina village, road to Yagodina cave, visit the cave, road trip to Shiroka Laka village (visit), Drive to Devin town, famous for its mineral springs. Overnight in 4**** hotel with SPA and swimming pool.
Day 4 Rodopi rolling hills.
Start driving on roads between potato fields to reach Dospat – 17 km long dam at the hearth of mountain. Here starts off-road in coniferous and deciduous forests, passing by mushroom gatherers and cattle-farms to reach architectural reserve village of Kovacevica. Walk around to see houses and a church and to feel authentic spirit of that place. Drive to Ognyanovo and then following the valley of Mesta river to reach Bansko. Dinner and overnight at 4**** hotel.
Day 5 Visit ‘Dancing bears park’ in Rila Mountains,
off-road to Semkovo mountain resort. Enjoy large views to Pirin Mountains, probably topped with snow. Forest drive in is usually centuries old pine and spruce. Afternoon sightseeing in old Bansko center. Optional free time or visiting Pirin National Park (UNESCO) and walking to a glacial lake Okoto. Same overnight.
Day 6 Starts off-road
from out hotel in Bansko to Predela pass (15km) driving between Pirin and Rila mountains. Then we will drive to famous Rila monastery (UNESCO site, founded 11th century), visit, lunch, drive to Sofia. Return jeeps and bus-transfer to center for sightseeing. Go to hotel, dinner and overnight in 4**** hotel.
Day 7 Sightseeing old Sofia,
free time for shopping, transfer to airport for depart.
